The Island Def Jam records.

The Islands Def Jam records is renowned as one of the largest most successful record labels. Def Jam records was founded by Rick Rubin, Russel Simmons and LL Cool J who himself if a very famous hip-hop star. Def Jam recordings are owned by 'Universal Music Group' and it operates as part of Island Def Jam Motown Music Group. The UK part of Def Jam is called Def Jam UK and is operated through Mercury Music Group.
Def Jam recordings focuses on Hip-Hop music and urban music. Some of Def Jams past signed artists were:

Def Jam records has some of the greatest hip hop artists and most modern Hip Hop artists whose videos influence the type of music video that my group wants to create. These artists relate to my music video as they are the genre of music that my music video is going to be.

Aftermath Entertainment Record Label:

Aftermath entertainment record label is an american record label founded by Dr.Dre. It is a subsidary of Universal Music Groups, interscope records. It was founded in 1996 and is a very successful yet small record label. The current acts at aftermath records are :

• Eminem
• Dr.Dre
• 50 Cent
• Slim Da Mobster
• Game

Some of the former artists that have been under Aftermath Records are:

• Busta Rhymes
• Eve
• Rakim
• Raekwon
• Marsha Ambrosius
• Stat Quo

Sixteen out of the eighteen albums that have been released by Aftermath records have been top 5 albums on the BillBoard, Eleven of which peaked at number one. The label has multi-platinum releases from Eminem, Dr.Dre and 50 Cent and two Diamond records from Eminem. Aftermath records is based on quality and not the quantity of albums and records produced.

Eminem creates worldwide music and is still creating modern music now, as one of the greatest rappers in the world he is a strong influence for our music video that we create within our group because his music videos now fit to the genre exactly.

Young Money Entertainment was founded by Lil Wayne. This label is an imprint of Cash Money records which is distributed by Universal Republic Records.

Young Money record label has produced 5 number one albums by Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. This shows that this record label is an effective one therefore it is a good record label to look at in relation to my music video that i am going to produce with my group.
